Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer
Day 2: Nkob – Bab n’Ali

Your journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech toward the Saghro region. Crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of valleys and Berber villages. After a scenic drive, you reach the village of Nkob, the gateway to Jbel Saghro. Here, you meet your local trekking team, including guide and muleteers. After lunch, enjoy a short acclimatization walk through palm groves and traditional mud-brick houses. Dinner and overnight stay in a local guesthouse, preparing for the adventure ahead.

After breakfast, begin your trek from Nkob towards the famous Bab n’Ali rock formations. The trail leads through arid landscapes, dotted with acacia trees and volcanic rocks. As you walk, enjoy the peaceful silence of the mountains and observe the unique geology of the region. After several hours of trekking, you reach Bab n’Ali, known for its dramatic rock towers rising from the desert floor. Set up camp near the formations, where you will enjoy dinner under the stars and a night surrounded by the stunning natural scenery.

Day 3: Bab n’Ali – Ighazzoun
Day 4: Ighazzoun – Kouaouch
Day 5: Kouaouch – Afourar

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the heart of the Saghro Mountains. You follow a trail across plateaus and through small valleys, passing occasional nomadic camps. The scenery becomes more rugged, with impressive rock formations and vast open spaces. Along the way, you may encounter local shepherds tending their herds. After a picnic lunch, continue towards the area of Ighazzoun, where you will set up camp. Enjoy a relaxing evening with your team, sharing stories around the campfire and experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of this remote region.

After breakfast, the trek continues through diverse terrain, including rocky paths and wide valleys. Today is one of the most scenic days, with breathtaking views of the Saghro peaks and unique volcanic landscapes. You will pass through traditional nomadic routes and may see ancient engravings on rocks. After lunch, continue towards Kouaouch, a beautiful area known for its dramatic scenery. Set up camp and enjoy a well-deserved rest. The evening offers a perfect opportunity to admire the sunset over the mountains and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal.

Today’s journey leads you through more remote parts of the Saghro Mountains. The trail winds through narrow valleys, dry riverbeds, and rocky hills. The landscapes here are both wild and untouched, offering incredible photographic opportunities. You will experience the true solitude of the region, far from any modern distractions. After a picnic lunch along the way, continue to Afourar, where you will camp for the night. The calm environment and clear skies make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Day 6: Afourar – Nkob
Day 7: Return to Marrakech

On your final trekking day, begin the descent back toward Nkob. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and distant mountains. As you approach the village, the landscape gradually changes, with more vegetation and cultivated areas appearing. After several hours of walking, you arrive in Nkob, where you can enjoy a refreshing shower and a comfortable stay in a guesthouse. Celebrate the completion of your trek with a delicious Moroccan dinner and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past days.

After breakfast, depart Nkob and begin your journey back to Marrakech. The drive takes you through the beautiful Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and kasbahs. Crossing again the High Atlas Mountains, you will have time to stop for photos and enjoy the scenic landscapes. Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the afternoon.
